Petrox microbes are used to improve oil-water separator performance by degrading dissolved-phase oil.  The treatment goal is to reduce the TPH concentration to below discharge limits to avoid fines, surcharges and potential discontinuation of service.  The Petrox organisms may be introduced into the collection and treatment system at any point,  but are usually added to the collection or equalization sump for longer contact time.  In most cases, the dissolved phase total petroleum hydrocarbons  (TPH) is reduced by 50% to 90% in a manner of days.

For example, at a large city municipal truck garage, Petrox reduced the oil-water separator TPH discharge from 25.9 to 7.40 mg/L in three days.  At a smaller retail oil-change center the reduction was from 278 mg/L TPH to 14.1 mg/L TPH  in 21 days.  The biological treatment is maintained by adding a gallon of Petrox to the sump weekly.

Take care of this maintenance issue to avoid possible financial and legal problems.

The cost for maintaining discharge compliance at these applications is as little as $250 per month.

Petrox is a consortium of naturally-occuring micorbes selected for effective oil removal under a wide range of conditions.  The microbes tolerate changes in pH, temperature and salinity.  They metabolize the full range of petroleum hydrocarbons from light fuels to heavy used or unrefined oil.

High quality control manufacturing assures Petrox contains only beneficial oil-degrading microbes. The microbes are easy to use and safe for human health and the environment.  Delivered in liquid form, Petrox is ready to use.  At most locations the Petrox micorbes are added to theflow equalization tank.  Adding one gallon per week maintains a highly effective active population of microbes to a typical 200 gallon equalization tank.  Larger tanks or higher flow rates may require a higher dosage.  Contact CL Solutions for additional technical support at no cost.
